Thirteen years after its original publication, Ghost Girl: A Blue Ridge Mountain Story, is being reissued in paperback with a brand new cover and interior design. This exciting development came on the heels of the novel’s selection as Madison County, Virginia’s very first All-Community Summer Reads Book in 2015.
To help kick off the project I traveled to Madison, Virginia in April, 2015 to give presentations at the middle school and a ticketed event for community members, featuring a delicious heritage dinner at the lovely Graves Mountain Lodge.
Ghost Girl-related events then continued throughout the summer, including an art contest, read-alouds at the Senior Center, and a “Music of the Mountains” concert in the park. Thank you, Madison Reads Project, for keeping the special story of the President’s Mountain School alive for another generation of readers to enjoy!
